Knowing Iran throught Zahra’s Paradise

During a recent trip I had the chance of reading Zahra’s Paradise, a graphic novel about the recent history and current situation in Iran told by Iranians. This small little book has way more information about the subject than all the data offered by mass media and tells reality in a raw way.

Of course, we can all imagine how people live in a radical theocrazy, but Zahra’s Paradise goes beyond in several ways. One thing that had a great impact on me is that it indicates some of the companies doing business with the bloody regime, including siemens, nokia, tadano, and norinco. There should exist some kind of jurisdiction to judge and punish them for doing business with cruel regimes, specially siemens, which already sold their technology to the nazis.

You should read it, specially if it’s available in a library near you.
